How to Make a Sober Living Website with Squarespace in ~15 minutes

Creating a website for your sober living home is an effective way to share information with potential residents and streamline the application process. With Squarespace, you can quickly build a professional one-page website that includes key details about your home, an application link (if you use Sobriety Hub), and real-time bed availability. Here’s how to do it step by step.

15 MIN VIDEO TUTORIAL

Step 1: Sign Up for Squarespace

  • Visit Squarespace and create an account.
  • Select "real estate" as the closest type of business to a sober living home.
  • Choose a simple, clean one-page template like Rally or Hayden.
  • Replace stock photos with pictures of your house or relevant stock images (e.g., "community" or "healing").

Step 2: Add Your Sobriety Hub Application Link

If you have a Sobriety Hub account, you can direct potential residents to your online application form.

  1. Log into your Sobriety Hub account.
  2. Navigate to the Forms section.
  3. Find your Application Form Public Link (standard or custom).
  4. Click Share, then Copy the link.
  5. In Squarespace, click Add a Button and label it "Apply Now".
  6. Paste your Application Link into the button settings.

This allows visitors to apply directly from your website.

Step 3: Embed Real-Time Bed Availability

If your Sobriety Hub account includes bed availability tracking, you can embed a live feed showing open beds in real-time.

  1. Log into your Sobriety Hub account.
  2. Click Manage Org (requires appropriate permissions).
  3. Copy your Bed Availability URL (e.g., https://www.sobrietyhub.app/dashboard/houses/availability/27).
  4. In Squarespace, click Add Section > Embed Code and paste the following:
<iframe src="https://www.sobrietyhub.app/dashboard/houses/availability/27" width="100%" height="600px" style="border: none;"></iframe>

Important Notes:

  • The display updates in real-time as residents move in and out.
  • Ensure your house capacity settings are correct to prevent errors (e.g., showing negative bed counts).
  • Recommended height: Start with 600px, adjust to 700px for mobile users if needed.

Step 4: Publish Your Website

  • Click Settings > Site Availability, then set it to Public.
  • Connect a custom domain (e.g., www.YourSoberHomes.co) if desired.
  • Click Publish to make your website live.

Step 5: Share Your Website

  • Add your website link to social media, Google Business, and local directories.
  • Include the link in outreach materials and email signatures.

Conclusion

By following these steps, you can create a simple yet effective one-page website for your sober living home in less than an hour. Including your Sobriety Hub application and real-time bed availability ensures potential residents can easily apply and check for openings, making your operations smoother and more efficient.
